WWACPS??

What would a child psychologist say?

Once upon a time there lived a family of Green Blobs. There was Baby Blob, Sister Blob, Brother Blob, Mother Blob, and Father Blob. They lived together in the woods.

One day they decided to take a walk, and so they did. While they were walking they came to a...
one eyed monster! They thought he would be mean, but he wasn't! He was really pretty nice.
They decided to bring him home, but unfortunately he couldn't fit through the door! So he had to stay outside. They gave him a blanket, so he would keep warm. A few days later he got sick and died. They were sad and unhappy. They went out for another walk, they looked and looked but still, they couldn't find any more one eyed monsters.
They still kept looking and looking, and they found an unusual creature. It was a dog. They looked at him for a long time. There was a big silence in the woods. Then Sister Blob said, "He looks nice. Can we keep him?" Father Blob said "oh, I guess we can keep him." "Oh thank you thank you!" said Sister Blob.
They brought him home. They fed him and took care of him, but again, HE got sick and died. Again they were sad and unhappy. So they went on another walk and looked around for another pet.
They found a Siamese cat wandering around away from home, so they brought him home and fed him and played with him. One day Baby Blob was crawling around the home and she pulled the cat's tail! The cat was shocked and he got so scared that
HE died.
By and by, they went out for another walkand found a.... BOBCAT! They brought him home, and before they even got through the door he ate them all up and after he was done he licked his chops and said to himself, "BOY THAT WAS GOOD!"

I would have to say that I wasn't the most gifted writer as a child. But I was a pretty darn good illustrator!

Winged Migration!

This morning, as I had hoped I saw the first hummingbird at my feeder! I suspect it might have been the same little "guy" that was sipping dew off of my car on Monday. (or his/her mate). At any rate, my efforts paid off and I should get the honor of seeing a little hummingbird outside my window each morning while they're in migration to warmer lands!
It's mornings like these that I wish I had a digital camera! I'll get one soon....

Mr. Chairman, I believe it's time to bring in the unicorns.....

Okay, so I'll admit that at my age, my grasp of the US and Global economies and my understanding of our government is pretty shameful, but I'm definitely trying to educate myself further.

That preface being made, I have to say that I still don't seem to understand a dang thing about the workings of the economy.....I mean sheesh! The more I try to study and "figure out" how the economy "rolls", I feel like it's more just a bunch of mysticism and fantasy than any reality. Just a bunch of imaginary rules that the boards are implementing as they go.

I just imagine being a fly on the wall in on those Fed meetings and Congressional hearings and hearing them say things like "Yes, we must act now. It's difficult to determine the extent of the damage, but I do believe it's time to bring out the unicorns and implement the rainbows and moonbeams strategies to wipe out all the "bad loans" and make them disappear..."

Then, WOOSH!
Sparks are all flyin' and unicorns start jumpin' out the walls and Bernanke puts on his wizard hat and sparks and rainbows start shootin' all over....

I know it's sillly, but I just can't seem to get that image out of my head.....unicorns and rainbows.....magically making all the debts go away.....

Welcome Autumn!

I am happy with today. I'm so pleased that it is the Autumnal Equinox.
I love the fall. I love the brisk air, the multitude of color, the slight chill that crawls up your spine when you think about winter coming, or think about pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving.....the rustling sound of dried, fallen leaves.

Beautiful!

And to make the day even a little cheerier..... I looked out my window with my kitty-kat early this morning to see all the dew, to search for that little wren making all the happy racket in the nearby hemlock tree, and what did I see?!?! A sweet little hummingbird drinking the dew off of my car. I never did put the hummingbird feeder out this summer, but now I certainly will. And I welcome all the dear little feathered migrators to my neighborhood!

Ahhhh.

Someone please take the melamine away from Chinese companies!

I don't want stuff from China no more....Those poor babies and our poor pets!

Optimistic Things

This is the greatest thing that's ever been said about me, and it came from my (nearly) 10 year old nephew recently..... He said "she really likes to collect optimistic things, doesn't she?"

There's a first time for everything

I certainly never thought I'd be interested in posting a blog, but with a great deal of alone-time on the weekends, I figure it wouldn't hurt to try. Today I'll just explore this arena...especially since there is no gas in Nashville to get anywhere....
